Viet Thanh Nguyen, a winner of the Pulitzer Prize in fiction for his 2015 novel The Sympathizer, will visit UGA Feb. 13 to give the comparative literature department's annual Betty Jean Craige Lecture. He will also take part in a Feb. 14 public conversation hosted by the Dean Rusk International Law Center.

Harvard University historian Sven Beckert will visit UGA Feb. 25 for the Global Georgia Initiative of the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts. He will give his talk, "Empire of Cotton: The Global Origins of Modern Capitalism," at 4 p.m. in the Chapel.

Randy Borman, the son of Anglo-American missionaries who was born and raised among an Amazonian tribe known as the Cofán people, will speak in the Chapel Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. His lecture, "An Amazon Contribution to Global Survival," is open free to the public.
