Robert N. Saveland received George J. Miller Award for Distinguished Service to Geographic Education

Robert N. Saveland, professor emeritus of education, received the George J. Miller Award for Distinguished Service to Geographic Education. The honor is the top award given by the National Council for Geographic Education.

Saveland was a professor of social science education in the College of Education from 1968-1985. The award is named for the NCGE’s founder and longest serving editor of NCGE’s flagship publication, The Journal of Geography.
