Wisconsin offers need-based grants for college-preparatory program

The Wisconsin Covenant Scholars program, which awards scholarships to participating high school students who meet certain program requirements and guarantees them a place in a college or university, will be bolstered by need-based grants, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, who helped establish the program, announced the grants would come from a $25 million allocation enacted last year. The grants range from $250–$2,500 for the first two years of college and an adjusted amount for the next two.
