UGA College of Pharmacy’s annual Dawgtoberfest scheduled for Oct. 20

In conjunction with American Pharmacists Month, the College of Pharmacy will hold its eighth annual Dawgtoberfest: Rx for Good Health on Oct. 20 from noon-3 p.m.

The event is open to university faculty, staff, students and families in the Athens
community.

Sponsored by Walgreens, Dawgtoberfest will be an afternoon of health promotion and relaxation at Pharmacy South and will include health screenings and free samples for attendees.

Flu shots will be available for $20 and can be paid for with cash, check or Visa or MasterCard.

Also available will be free body fat analysis, diabetes assessments and blood pressure checks.

Additionally, booths will have information on hypertension, asthma, breast cancer, diabetes, fad diets, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, women’s health topics, pediatric health topics and heartburn.

Parking is available in the South Campus and Carlton Street decks.
