UGA Campaign for Charities nets more than $400,000 in contributions

UGA faculty and staff generously supported the annual Campaign for Charities by contributing $403,707.92 in donations and pledges.

The contributions were made by 1,981 faculty and staff from Oct. 9 until Dec. 15, 2014, and this is the ninth consecutive year that donations have surpassed $400,000.

“It was such an honor to serve as chair of the Campaign for Charities,” said Charles N. Davis, the chairman of this year’s Campaign for Charities and dean of Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. “The commitment and dedication of so many people across the university make this campaign special. Helping others-particularly during the holiday season-allows us all to give back to the community we love so much, in ways that resonate far beyond campus.”

The annual Campaign for Charities is part of the State Charitable Contributions program, which features more than 1,300 organizations that are eligible to receive donations.
