The University System of Georgia Board of Regents has named the chancellor of the University of Colorado at Boulder as the 11th president of the Georgia Institute of Technology. G.P. “Bud” Peterson will assume his new post on April 1. He succeeds G. Wayne Clough, who stepped down on June 30, 2008, to become the 12th secretary of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
