Thomas A. Baker III named associate editor

College of Education faculty member Thomas A. Baker III was named the new associate editor for the Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport, a leading journal for sport law.

An associate professor in the kinesiology department’s sport management and policy program, Baker will serve as associate editor of the publication for two years and then as editor for two years.

His research primarily focuses on the application of law to sport. He specializes in how commercial laws influence sport marketing, such as legal issues concerning brand image and management as well as the regulation of marketing through social media. He also conducts injury prevention research that focuses on the risk of sexual violence in sports, with a particular focus on violence against children.
