The Institute of International Education, an independent nonprofit organization, has established a fund to help Syrian students studying in the U.S., The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The fund was created to assist Syrian students who are currently facing financial problems because of unrest in their home country. The institute plans to issue emergency awards of $2,000 to students who otherwise would not be able to finish their studies.
