Survivor of Holocaust, homelessness donates $150K to Hebrew University

Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, received half of a $300,000 estate left by a concentration camp survivor and former homeless woman, CNN reported.

The woman, who died two years ago, has not been identified by request. She lived into her 90s.

She lived on the streets of New York’s Upper West Side several years ago when a Jewish accountant and his wife befriended her, CNN reported. Although the benefactor informed the couple she would be leaving a will, they had no idea as to her net worth.
