Student newspaper puts emphasis on digital news, changes publication dates

The Red&Black, the independent student newspaper at UGA, has moved to a “digital-first” format called Red & Black 2.0. The newspaper will now update breaking news, scores, reviews, videos, podcasts, crime maps, photo galleries, columns and blogs online at RedandBlack.com.

The Red&Black in print will come out every Thursday with a multi-section newspaper featuring investigative articles, personality profiles, in-depth stories, expanded sports coverage, a full listings of local events and features on what to do in the coming week.

Ampersand, a magazine covering “all things red & black,” features long-form profiles, informative features, fashion spreads and tips, Q&As with celebrities and columns with loosely themed issues covering football, spirits, food, fashion and sex, and will come out monthly.

“Our staff is excited about maintaining our position as ‘the go-to place’ for news and information about the university, while continuing to publish a variety of products that create the most effective and efficient media buy,” said publisher Harry Montevideo.
