Spring enrollment up over last year

Enrollment at UGA for spring semester shot up to 32,154, an increase of 141 students over spring 2005.

The total includes 30,949 students attending classes at UGA’s main campus in Athens and 1,205 students enrolled in classes at the Gwinnett University Center and UGA centers in Tifton and Griffin.

The on-campus total, up by 125 students over last year, includes 23,219 undergraduate students, 6,132 graduate students and 1,598 students enrolled in the law school and the colleges of pharmacy and veterinary medicine.

Off-campus enrollment, up by 16 students over last spring, includes 944 students enrolled in UGA degree programs at the Gwinnett University Center, 51 at the Tifton center and 12 at the Griffin Center. The total also includes 198 students enrolled in independent study.

Gwinnett University Center enrollment includes 400 students studying at the undergraduate level and 544 studying at the graduate level, a total 5.4 percent increase over last spring.
