Report: High school grades are biggest factor in college admissions

More than standardized testing or high school rank, students’ grades and course rigor matter most when it comes to admissions in college, according to a report by the National Association for College Admission Counseling.

“The results show that getting good grades in challenging courses is what college admissions offices value most,” said Joyce Smith, CEO of NACAC.

The report is based on surveys sent to high schools and colleges.
