The Georgia Sculptors’ Society, a nonprofit group of artists, students and alumni organized through the sculpture department, is hosting its inaugural Pulaski Street Art Crawl on Oct. 8 from 5-9 p.m.
During the event, which is open free to the public, participating artists will open their studios and participating business owners will showcase artwork from Athens-area artists.
The event will officially start at ARTini’s Art Lounge on Broad and Pulaski streets. There, Project Safe artwork will be showcased, and artists and organizers of Project Safe will be available to answer questions. The final stop and main event of the Art Crawl, the Georgia Sculptors’ Society’s Juried Art Exhibition, will take place at Pints and Paints in Suite 600 in the Leathers Building. Judges for the student art exhibition are bronze and media sculptor Mary Engel, who is also director for UGA’s Costa Rica Art and Culture Program, and Kinzey Branham, an instructor in the Lamar Dodd School of Art who is also a figure sculptor.
