Proposal for UGA-Emory dual degree goes to board of regents for approval

The University Council approved a proposal Feb. 19 to offer a dual master’s degree in social work and divinity between the UGA School of Social Work and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

The cross-disciplinary program would prepare graduates to address social work-based support services that are responsive to faith-based needs of clients served. Students would have to apply and be accepted into both universities’ programs. The dual degree program will need approval from the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
