Princeton lowers grades

Princeton University’s three-year crackdown on grade inflation is working, according to a report in USA Today.

After two years, the percentage of A’s has decreased from 47 percent to 41 percent. Princeton’s policy is to limit A’s to 35 percent total from all departments, though there are no grade quotas for individual classes.

While students report the policy has made classes more competitive, Princeton Dean Nancy Malkiel says Princeton will maintain the policy in the future.
