Pew study: Percentage of diploma recipients reaches all-time high

A record portion of young adults are earning degrees in college and high school, according to a Pew Research Center study.

For the first time, one-third of U.S. adults aged 25 to 29 have earned a bachelor’s degree and 63 percent have completed at least some college. Another record 90 percent have completed high school.

The study analyzed new census data.

According to a Pew Research Center news release, one reason for the gains in diplomas could be the Great Recession and sluggish job growth pushing more young adults to boost their education.
