Penn State University to pay $59.7 million to Sandusky victims

Penn State University has announced it will pay nearly $60 million to 26 sex abuse victims of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

The agreement was part of a settlement with victims to end claims against the university.

In 2012, Sandusky was convicted of abusing underage boys, some of them in Penn State facilities.

The settlement will not be funded by tuition, taxpayer funds or donations, university officials said, but instead would come from liability insurance policies.
