Historic newspapers from four south Georgia cities are now available online at the Digital Library of Georgia. Consisting of more than 81,000 newspaper pages, the archive provides access to the historical records through a system that is full-text searchable and can be browsed by date. The South Georgia Historic Newspapers Archive provides online access to six newspapers published from 1845 to 1922: the Albany News, Albany Patriot, Americus Times Recorder, Sumter Republican, Thomasville Times Enterprise and Valdosta Times.
