The Wall Street Journal quoted Andy Herod, Distinguished Research Professor of Geography, director of UGA’s Paris study-abroad program and adjunct professor of international affairs and anthropology, in an article on the debate over whether or not Athens should spend money to preserve a railroad trestle pictured on R.E.M.’s album Murmur.

“It either falls down or we take it down,” said Herod, who also serves as a county commissioner.
