MIT posts journals online

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is sharing its research by adopting a policy that all faculty members will deposit their scholarly research papers in a free online university repository, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

The policy aims to expand access to the university’s scholarship and is similar to the policy adopted by Harvard University last year, except that Harvard’s policy gave professors the choice to opt out. About 30 colleges and universities around the world have adopted similar open-access policies for their research.
