Miami University promises to take in more displaced Italian students

The recent earthquake in Italy damaged much of L’Aquila University, leaving 27,000 students displaced in higher education, but the University of Miami, which has a study-abroad program there, has opened its doors in Florida to some of those students, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

The invitation came after L’Aquila’s rector appealed for help in placing the university’s students in places where they could continue their education while the school struggles to rebuild. No Miami students were studying abroad in Italy at the time of the disaster, the Chronicle stated.
