Noted researcher will deliver second annual Marquee Alumnus seminar

James Ihle of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. will present the second annual Marquee Alumnus seminar Nov. 6 at 3:30 p.m in Room C127 of the Davison Life Sciences Complex. The lecture, “Cotton to Cytokines: It’s All About Exploring Biology,”  is open free to the public. The series highlights recent accomplishments of past advanced-degree recipients from the department of biochemistry and molecular biology at UGA.

Ihle received his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from UGA, where he studied under the direction of Leon Dure, a long-time faculty member. He currently chairs the department of biochemistry at St. Jude, holds the Edward F. Barry Endowed chair in biochemistry and is a former Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator.
