Malaysian education may benefit from ongoing global financial crisis

One of the few bright spots in the global financial crisis are colleges and universities in Malaysia, which are expected to profit greatly as fewer students will be able to afford attending institutions outside the country and are expected to stay in-country for their education, The Star, the country’s leading newspaper, reported.

What’s more, officials at Malaysia’s private institutions are hoping that their relatively lower costs also will bolster their enrollment of African and Asian students from outside the country who are hoping to study in an English-speaking country.
