Instructors go without pay at Baltimore City Community College

Due to what the institution called a “process failure,” part-time faculty members at Baltimore City Community College went for as long as two months without pay or contracts this fall, the Baltimore City Paper reported.

College administrators said the failure stemmed from problems in the payroll office. The instructors said the problem was the result of layoffs among workers who process the payroll.

Administrators offered temporary pay on request. The college plans to examine and rebuild the college’s payroll system.
