Institute of Government will host regional public administration conference

UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government is hosting this year’s Southeastern Conference for Public Administration. It will be held at the Classic Center in downtown Athens Sept. 27-30. The conference theme is “Bridging Theory, Policy and Practice,” and students and members of the UGA community interested in public administration are invited to attend.

In addition to traditional panel sessions including paper presentations, the conference also will feature a professional development track, a symposium on disaster management and several nationally known speakers.

Conference speakers include Mary Guy, public administration scholar; Harvey White, president of the American Society for Public Administration; Robert Golembiewski, UGA Distinguished Research Professor; and Hamilton Jordan, former White House Chief of Staff for U.S. President Jimmy Carter and an affiliate of the Vinson Institute.
