Graduate Student Association to host annual interdisciplinary conference

The UGA Graduate Student Association will host the 10th annual Interdisciplinary Research Conference on March 27 in the Miller Learning Center. The theme of this year’s conference is “Health and the Disciplines.”

Open free to the public, the conference will highlight research and poster presentations from a range of disciplines, including international health, arts, the environment, applied cognition, animal science and public administration.

Steve Oliver, associate department head of mathematics and science education in the College of Education, will deliver the keynote presentation at 11 a.m. in Room 102 of the Miller Learning Center. He will discuss his recent interdisciplinary research to improve biology education for veterinary medicine students and high school students.

The conference begins at 9:30 a.m. in Room 102 of the MLC. Graduate student
presentations begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4:45 p.m. on the first floor. More than
80 graduate students will present research in 16 categories.
