The Gannett Co. recently bought the University of Central Florida’s student newspaper, The Central Florida Future, reports The Chronicle of Higher Education. A private for-profit owner previously owned the paper, which became unaffiliated with the university in 1993. The Future’s editorial structure will not change under the new management.
This is the second time in six and a half months that a Gannett subsidiary has purchased a student newspaper. The first belonged to Florida State University.
