Free health screenings will be part of ninth annual Dawgtoberfest

In conjunction with American Pharmacists Month, the College of Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association will host the ninth annual Dawgtoberfest: Rx for Good Health on Oct. 19 from noon-3 p.m. at the Tate Student Center.

An afternoon of health promotion and relaxation, Dawgtoberfest will include health screenings, free food and samples for all attendees. It is sponsored by Walgreens.

Flu shots will be available at the event for $20 (cash or credit accepted). Also available will be free body fat analysis, diabetes assessments and blood pressure checks.
Additionally, students and faculty will staff booths from student health groups across campus to present information on hypertension, asthma, breast cancer, diabetes, fad diets, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, women’s health topics, pediatric health topics and heartburn.

Dawgtoberfest is open to UGA students, faculty and staff and families in the Athens community.
