Former UGA administrator named East Georgia State president

Robert G. Boehmer, former associate provost for academic planning at UGA, was named the fifth president of East Georgia State College by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents in November.

Boehmer had been serving as the interim president of the Swainsboro-based college since November 2011.

The new EGSC president had served for more than 20 years at UGA as faculty and administrator, first joining the faculty of the Terry College of Business in 1989.
