Click IRB will automate human research subject application process

In the coming weeks, the Office of the Vice President for Research will automate Institutional Review Board processes.

An online Click IRB will replace the current paper-based system for submission, review and approval of human subject research applications. However, researchers will continue to provide the same information and materials previously submitted. The Click IRB system is used by more than 65 leading research institutions to improve their IRB compliance efforts and to ensure the safe and ethical conduct of research involving human subjects. More than 10,000 UGA faculty, staff and students conduct human subjects research. The new system will help the Human Subjects Office manage increasing volumes of research and is expected to improve the protocol review turnaround times.

Announcements on Click IRB, including training and full implementation, will be released soon. Detailed information on support, training, frequently asked questions, and the latest announcements are available at http://gear.ovpr.uga.edu/applications-and-databases/click-irb/.
