Legendary novelist Chinua Achebe joins faculty at Brown University

Acclaimed novelist Chinua Achebe, who wrote Things Fall Apart, has accepted the position of David and Marianna Fisher University Professor and professor of Africana studies at Brown University, the institution reported.
Achebe, the world’s best known Nigerian writer, was previously the Charles P. Stevenson Professor of Languages and Literature at Bard College. Things Fall Apart has sold more than 12 million copies in English alone and has been translated into 50 languages. Other works by Achebe include No Longer at Ease, Arrow of God, A Man of the People and Anthills of the Savannah.
