California awards $50 million for innovation in higher education

California legislation included a $50 million fund for innovations in higher education to the state’s budget this year.

The Committee on Awards for Innovation in Higher Education has announced the winners of the fund, which includes the University of California, California State University and several California community colleges.

The funds will increase degree production, allow more students to earn bachelor degrees within four years and ease the transfer process through the state’s three public higher education systems.
