Associate professor pens robotics book

Exploring Robotics with ROBOTIS Systems, written by UGA associate professor of engineering Chi Thai, presents foundational robotics concepts suitable as a curriculum for a first course in robotics for undergraduate students or a self-learner.

The book covers wheel-based robots as well as walking robots.

Although it uses the standard “Sense, Think, Act” approach, the book goes in depth about communications programming concepts. Web-based multimedia materials offer illustrations of robotics concepts and code implementations as well as videos of actual resulting robot behaviors.

Advanced sensor interfacing for gyroscope, inertial measuring unit, foot pressure sensor and color camera also are demonstrated.
