Chris Bell, a fourth-year doctoral student in counseling psychology in the College of Education, received the 2007 Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award from the Prevention Section of the Division of Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association.
Bell, currently an intern at the Medical College of Georgia in the department of psychiatry and health behavior, received the award at the APA’s 115th annual conference last month for his dissertation, “Evaluation of an Implementation of an Abbreviated Bully Prevention Program for Reducing Aggression in a Middle School.”
This is the second consecutive year that a College of Education student has received the award. Jennifer Stoddard received it in 2006 for her dissertation, “Treatment Adherence and Recidivism: An Evaluation of a Multiple Family Group Intervention for First Time Juvenile Offenders.”
