In 1901, to celebrate 100 years of classes at the Athens campus, UGA assembled the Centennial Alumni Catalog, containing “as far as possible, a full but concise account of the life and services of all alumni during the century.”

That catalog is now online, courtesy of the Digital Library of Georgia and the Hargrett Rare Books and Manuscripts Library.

The catalog attempted to collect biographical data about anyone who matriculated at the university during that first century, whether or not they graduated. Information collected from 1,749 questionnaires was bound into several volumes, and eventually housed in the University Archives unit of the Hargrett Rare Books and Manuscripts Library.
