African universities need a stronger emphasis on research in the humanities and social sciences, according to a report released by the British Academy and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
The report, “Frameworks for Africa-UK Research Collaboration in the Social Sciences and Humanities,” notes that in recent years, African higher education experts have lobbied extensively for the advancement of research in science and technology in African universities, often overlooking the humanities and social sciences.
