Wendy B. Zomlefer, senior research scientist and curator of the department of plant biology’s herbarium, received the 2009 Gaia Award of Excellence from the Florida chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists in April. Zomlefer was honored for her botanical illustrations and research, with special recognition for her taxonomy text, Guide to Flowering Plant Families.
