A Forbes article about an easy-to-use, GPS-based technology invented by UGA faculty that allows farmers to more accurately target irrigation needs and reduce water consumption by about 15 percent quoted Calvin Perry, a research and extension engineer at UGA.
“The patent is expiring in December for the general concept for VRI,” said Perry. “That means more players can get into the game.”
