Vet med professor receives advocacy award

Dr. Doris Miller, a faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine, received the 2016 Dobbins Mahaffey Advocacy Award from the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.

A professor of anatomic pathology in the pathology department, Miller is based in the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Since 2007, she has served as the associate director of state government relations for the veterinary medicine college and works closely with the college’s leadership and state officials on matters involving state government. She also serves as a liaison with the Georgia Department of Agriculture and the GVMA where she serves on the organization’s advocacy committee.
