Undergraduate award applications

Applications are being accepted for the UGA Libraries’ Undergraduate Research Awards.

The award provides seven cash prizes totaling $2,000 to students who demonstrate distinction in research and academic inquiry. The program was established in support of UGA’s instruction, research and service missions to encourage scholarship and emphasize the research process using library resources and services.

To apply for the award, students will meet with a librarian for a one-on-one research conference and submit a three- to four-page paper describing their research process, sources used and the discoveries they made while preparing their project.

Applicants must currently be enrolled in the CURO or Honors programs or submit abstracts of their projects to the CURO Symposium by Feb. 14 in addition to applying for the award.

Deadlines for the 2014 awards cycle are the following: completion of research conference, March 14; submission of essay and other application materials, March 21. Winners will be announced and rewarded during CURO’s annual symposium on March 31.
