Thinking happy?

An Associated Press article about the satisfaction level of workers with “positive affects” such as cheerful dispositions quoted Olivia Amanda O’Neill, assistant professor of management. The article focused on the crash-and-burn that happens to overly cheerful and expectant workers.

“These people change jobs as many as five times in four years,” said O’Neill. “Presumably they keep thinking the next job’s going to be better than the previous one.”
