‘Thinc.’ big: New UGA initiative kicks off with week of events

Entrepreneurial Week at UGA continues through March 29. It is part of Thinc. at UGA, a new initiative that promotes entrepreneurship and fosters economic development. Among the highlights:

On March 25, student entrepreneurs will share their success stories and offer advice at 11 a.m. during a panel discussion in the Tate Student Center Theatre.

On March 26 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 128 of the Center for Applied Genetic Technologies, Ed Schutter, CEO of Arbor ­Pharmaceuticals, will talk about how to prepare and pursue venture funding. At 7 p.m. in DanceFx Studios, “Making a Living Doing What You Love” will be held.

On March 27 at 12:30 p.m. in Mahler Auditorium of the Georgia Center, “UGA Women at the Frontier,” will highlight some of the state’s female trailblazers in business, science, technology, politics and ­humanitarianism.

On March 28 beginning at 9 a.m., Room 271 of the special collections library will be the site of discussions by executives at Singularity University. At 3:30 p.m. in Room 101 of the Miller Learning Center, UGA faculty and alumni will share new perspectives on art and entrepreneurship.

On March 29 at 2 p.m. in Room 271 of the special collections libraries, the Office of Alumni Relations will host a panel discussion with five Bulldog 100 honorees. The March 29 songwriter showcase Songs for Ciné, has sold out.
