Telephone changes

UGA telephone services is transitioning to the new Avaya system that is being installed by AT&T. UGA has already taken over responsibility of the current telephone system from GTA.

To report an incident or repair to the Athens campus telephone system, go to www.eits.uga.edu/telephone/, select “Incident/Repair” from the menu on the left and click on “Athens Campus Incident/Repair Request.” A telephone incident/repair ticket will be displayed. This ticket should be completed and submitted to Telephone Services.

Telephone service will be disrupted June 19 from midnight until 10 a.m. as the system is being adjusted. Telephone service also will be disrupted June 26 from midnight until noon as AT&T will be transitioning to new equipment.

An enhanced 911 vendor is completing an audit of every telephone connected to the UGA telephone system, and all telephone moves, adds or changes should be coordinated through Telephone Services so the E911 system database is correct.
