Staff Council officers re-elected for second term

Staff Council officers re-elected for second term

All the current officers of Staff Council were re-elected for another term at the council’s Feb. 4 meeting.

The officers are: president, Stuart Ivy, an information technology manager in the College of Veterinary Medicine; vice president, Jerry Daniel, an information technology professional in the department of mathematics; coordinator, Vicky Coker, who works in the training and development section of human resources; and recording secretary, Lynn Parham, a student affairs professional in the College of Pharmacy.

Council officers now serve one-year terms. However, Ivy and his predecessor, Shannon Scott, have suggested that terms be lengthened to enable officers to become comfortable in their positions and carry out long-range goals. Ivy appointed a committee to review council bylaws and asked that consideration of longer terms be included in the review.
