To comply with University Council bylaws and pending changes to Staff Council bylaws, elections will be held at the Feb. 7 Staff Council meeting (2 p.m. in Room 150 of the Student Learning Center) for the following positions: Staff Council offices of president, vice president, recording secretary and coordinator; and newly-created staff positions on the University Council, which will include membership on the University Council Benefits, Facilities, Libraries, Parking Appeals, Strategic Planning and Student Affairs committees.
To nominate someone to a position—staff members also may nominate themselves—send a brief biographical statement about the candidate and the desired position either by e-mail or campus mail to Brenda Keen, bkeen@uga.edu or Brenda Keen, The Georgia Review, Gilbert Hall, Campus Mail 9009. For candidates interested in more than one position, list all areas of interest. Deadline is Jan. 29. You do not have to be a current Staff Council member to be nominated. Votes will be cast only by current Staff Council representatives. Candidates should attend the Feb. 7 meeting in case anyone has questions. The Staff Council officer positions run July 1, 2007–June 30, 2008.
