Service-learning programs

The Office of Service-Learning will hold “An Introduction to Service-Learning for First-Year Students” on Oct. 20 and 24 from 3:30-4:15 p.m. in Room 148 of the Miller Learning Center. Co-sponsored by the First-Year Odyssey Program, each session will provide an overview of service-learning opportunities and resources for undergraduates. On Oct. 21, the office will open its Service-Learning Workshop Series with “Improving Student Learning Outcomes with Critical Reflection.” The workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the Office of Service-Learning, 1242 ½ S. Lumpkin St. Workshop participants will learn about the fundamentals and best practices of reflection theory and put this into practice through hands-on activities that explore written, verbal, group and visual reflection activities.
