Rodney Atkins to perform in UGA Miracle benefit concert

Country singer Rodney Atkins will perform at the Georgia Theatre Aug. 29 in a concert to benefit UGA Miracle.

Nationally recognized country singer Rodney Atkins, known for his single “Take a Back Road,” will perform Aug. 29 at the Georgia Theatre, 215 N. Lumpkin St. Athens native Emily Hearn will be the opening act for the concert. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the concert will begin at 8 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit UGA Miracle, one of the largest student-run philanthropies at UGA. Tickets, which are $35, are available online at georgiatheatre.com or by phone at 706-850-7670.

As an organization, UGA Miracle raises awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which locally benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Funds, from events like the benefit concert, specifically have benefited the comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit at the Scottish Rite Hospital.

UGA Miracle and its participants engage with the community to make a significant impact in the lives of kids at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. More information about the benefit concert is at georgiatheatre.com.
