Regional STEM conference

UGA will co-host the conference “Regional STEM Institute of Teaching and Learning” April 14 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Classic Center. Participants will include faculty, postdocs and graduate students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics and STEM education disciplines from UGA and neighboring universities.

The institute will explore strategies for improving instruction and increasing the number of students who succeed in STEM disciplines, provide a forum to discuss strengthening the NSF Broader-Impacts statement in research proposals, as well as learn how faculty have been able to find time to conduct research on improving student performance in their courses while meeting all other professional obligations.

The Regional STEM Institute of Teaching and Learning is sponsored by the University System of Georgia STEM Initiative, UGA, the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and the College of Education.

Details about the STEM Institute and a registration form are online at  www.ose.uga.edu/. For more information, contact Nancy Vandergrift by email (vandergr@uga.edu) or phone (706-542-3499).
