Public Service nominations

The Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Walter Barnard Hill Award for Distinguished Achievement in Public Service and Outreach at UGA; the Walter Barnard Hill Fellow Award for Distinguished Achievement in Public Service and Outreach at UGA; and the Public Service and Outreach Staff Award for Excellence. Nominations are due by Sept. 30.

The Hill Award honors outstanding public service and outreach work by UGA faculty members. A maximum of five Hill Award recipients will each receive a medallion and a framed certificate.

The Hill Fellow Award recognizes sustained, distinguished and superb achievement in public service and outreach at the University of Georgia, and contributions to improving the quality of life in Georgia or elsewhere.

The Staff Award for Excellence is the most prestigious award for staff members and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a strong work ethic, commitment to service and exceptional job performance.

The awards will be presented at the Public Service and Outreach Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon April 16 at the Georgia Center.
