The Far Right in America
By Cas Mudde
Paperback: $19.95 Hardback: $60 Ebook: $17.96
Cas Mudde, an associate professor of international affairs at UGA's School of Public and International Affairs, has released The Far Right in America, a compilation of his own blog posts, interviews and op-eds about the U.S. far right.
Mudde, who also is a researcher for the Center for Research on Extremism at the University of Oslo in Norway, has compiled these works to emphasize two important developments of the 21st century: the Tea Party and Donald Trump.
Written in a style that appeals to nonacademic audiences, the book is light on jargon, explains terminology and clarifies key organizations and people and their relationship to (liberal) democracy. It also covers topics ranging from right-wing populists to neo-Nazi terrorists.
An expert on European politics, Mudde has published widely on topics such as (un)civil society, democratization, Euroskepticism, extremism and democracy, political parties and populism. His prime geographical regions of expertise are Europe, both East and West, and North America.
